This course and leerburg dvd's I have watched has helped me a lot. My dog was supposed to have its fundamentals in place when I got him. He knew sit and that's about it. The breader believed in dominance training only. The hardest part I have had with him is the pack leader. I had to start all over from the beginning. This course has helped me realize that it's me that needed the help not the dog. When to treat when not to treat and most of all how much fun it is to watch my dog respond. Learn and grow. It has made the bond with riddick and me very close. My family and I thank you guys for this class and all your help.

Thank you for all of the work you put into this course. I wish I would've known all of this information before we adopted our dog (2 years ago). I've caught "the bug" and am going to continue to learn all that I can. I've purchased your DVD on dogs with horses and look forward to purchasing many many more.
I really enjoyed how you built the course up by starting with the foundation and building a pack and then worked on. You also kept it basic - which should be understood before trying advanced work.
The only thing I would've like to have seen was more discussion among individuals at the end of each week. It's always interesting to hear what others have to say and what problems they are facing. You may find out you have a problem that you weren't even aware about yet.

The most important facet that I learned from this class is to know my dog. Know his limitations, know what corrections work most effectively with him, and that every dog is different. It is most important to give a correction to a dog the moment it happens not later because they have no idea what they did as time goes on. They all learn in different ways and with different types of training methods.
Through this course, I was able to evaluate my 2 year old German Shepherd and determine that he is a dog with high ball drive and through the class was able to increase his food drive with a high quaity food. Even though he was a pretty well trained dog, there were several areas that needed work.
Through the criterior of lures and look it help me have him more focused on me than what was going on around him. We have also been working on marker training because he likes to greet everyone that comes in and have now established where he is to go with visitors. There are so many things that help through out this course to mention. Each segment of each week has brought either a refresher or different aspect to training for me.
Thank you for the course and I look forward to doing more in the future.

There were so many things that I could not possibly name just one. I am getting a service dog in May and you have brought together so many of the questions that I had in one course. Pointing out the commands and why they are used the way they are was eye opening. I will continue to use all that you have made available to us. I will be taking another course with you very soon.

For me the most important aspect of balanced dog training was the necessity to control and manage all the different environments and distractions that can happen to a dog and handler. As a new trainer for my dogs it puts stress on me to go into new areas with them, now I am more secure and aware of what to look for and how to handle situations that might come up. I am definitely a component of reward-based balanced training and will be using this system with my dogs from now on out. I live in the Deep South where trainers still use compulsion training. I just don't like it. The dogs aren't happy. Reward- Based balanced training gives a dog an opportunity to grow in confidence, courage and intelligence and nothing could be better for all involved. Thank you for this opportunity. I hope to be able to take future classes as I progress in my abilities.

The scores on my tests, I wish were better and reflected the vast amount of information I learned from this course. I will comment on this in my review.
I have learned so much about Pack structure, I have owned "good" dogs all my adult life. They were easy learners and offered little training challenges, plus they were natural pack members. I somehow manuevered myself into a situation of pack leader, but I have learned a more direct method from your class. I wish I had follwed your program when we first adopted our Stella two years ago. Our new girl is a definte challenge! She would have adjusted much more quickly to us and our environment if she could have done so from the safety of her crate. She came with a lot of inappropriate behaviors due to her fears of people and situations. She is a "hard" dog who is also extremely energetic.
Although, I had a little knowlege of clicker training, your DVD has helped me so much to refine my technique and make it work for Stella. She is an eager learning, but I wasn't delivering the message. I can see all kind of possibilitieds for her as we now share a common language. Ready, Yes, No, good and done!!!! Five simple words! Motivation and drive techniques were appreciated too. My timing and hand positions are areas that still need further refinement, but I know what to do now!!
Carefully, I followed your instructions on using a prong collar, especially helpful to someone who was not familiar with how to use it. Now, I know how to correct, by stopping, and rewarding her when she looks back at me. I never pull her leash, but use verbal commands to change direction. I want you to know she is so much better. As a rescue, she had an large audience--her former foster was absolutely amazed at her progress when she walked back to her doggy play group a week ago. She remarked to everyone, Stella is a different dog!!!! So, thank you so much!!!!
My self confidence is so much more, because I feel I have learned so much. I know what direction to take, and can offer solutions to a problem. Thank you for offering this class. And once again, thank you for helping so many dogs avoid the tragedy of being put down and surrendered, you are performing a great service.

I am new at marker training being that I started last Oct 2013 by taking an Operant Conditioning Class. I ended up purchasing a 16 mo old Mal from th training facility and have been working with him everyday first using a clicker, but have now begun using the word "YES" in place of the clicker. This course has certainly shed some light on some of the training stumbling blocks I have incurred and will definately be signing up for more.
This is an awesome class and have enjoyed taking it to improve training with my Mal. Your videos are spot on by using dogs with no prior training along with trained dogs. The discussions at the conclusion of each course allow us to ask specific personel questions. At this point, I don't know how you could improve?
