 Introducing Multiple Touch Pads

1 min 1 sec

The use of multiple touch pads is extremely beneficial for training various jumping exercises and also directional send aways.  Teaching this is relatively easy, if again, one trains in the rhythm, and also in a high state of drive.

The method used involves both release and duration marking.  We always want to mark the initial contact with a duration mark, and food reward.  This is imperative to maintain stability when working from one pad to another.

After one, or two duration marks, release the dog in between the two pads with a release mark, and food reward.  After your brief reward, advance towards the other place you are working with.  When the dog makes contact with the other pad, mark with duration and repeat the protocol.

View the video below for an example of how to use this method.
