No stress, Shaz, I'm late, too!
Um, holy sh@$, she is looking really good! That head and body position!!!!! Really great job reclaiming that stuff, Shaz, and now you know how the pieces go in place to do so.
:18 - the chin rub - you can charge that chin rup with a reward on occasion if it doesn't set her off too much. Sometimes I'll do those things and then mark and pay just to add a little 'toy hope'. I am of the mind that physical touch/affection should be it's own reward but there are ways we can manufacture a bit more energy by adding possibility of stronger incentive. You might mark and pay it on occasion, again, if it doesn't get her too pumped.
:26 - see how you work right and she stays back with the hand? It's perfect, exactly what can happen at this point because of all the reward placement work. In the very near future you'll push that work a bit by actually moving right and asking her to come with. She'll have to go with the criteria for behavior (focus and position) instead of staying with the hand. This is further proofing work that we can get into, soon.
That move at :34!!!! Nice power steering responsiveness!!!
I love when she starts trying stuff at :55! Her mind is open and that's awesome!!!! If she ever gets too unsettled their you can thicken your reinforcement schedule up for a period just to stabilize her.
Don't worry about the rear overcompensating to the left at this point, it's also a byproduct of the work. We can balance it back out by working right in the future.
Nice reset at 1:31.
1:51 - one thing you might consider doing is waiting for her to make that head adjustment on her own. You lured her forward in order to get a more high head position. At this point, I'd be interested in seeing how Jetta problem solves there - raising her head higher (in the position you've been showing her) in order to get the mark. Try this: after each mark, break her out for reward but only after you reward in the placement you've been using. You'll 'mark', feed correct reward placement, and then break out of position for further celebration. Then reset for another rep and allow her to find that proper head position. The idea is that she has one shot to get into position and prove she knows the correct head posture. Each rep is broken up by a nice experience of movement and reward and then she get's back in position again to earn another reward. Do this instead of feeding in place and staying there. I'd be interested to see how she responds. You're doing a lot of this anyway but we'll be particular about it. (2:17 is a perfect example! And 2:44).
3:22 - loved seeing her find great head position after that reward in place. That was the best she's done after not being broken out of position.
What i'd like to see:
1) more proofing of focus off the left hand. Try bringing it from behind her head out to the side... make a movement like you're actually swinging your arm naturally while she's in heel. But work from static position.
2) straight line movement with her head up, body position correct. See if you can get 1, 3, 5 steps... building slowly to them. She's got a lot of 'go' in her so we don't have to worry about taking it fast.
Great, fun, dynamic work, Shaz!
