I produced my first dog training DVD in 1982, I didn't produced a DVD on training dogs with food until 2007. We eventually turned the information in that 2 hour DVD into a video stream and followed by an online course (both with 2 hours of content). The information in those projects was good then and is still good today. The problem is we have learned a lot about training with food rewards in 17 years (since we did that first DVD). That course needed to be redone with the additional information. The fact is I should have done this 10 years ago, we just didn't have the time.
This new 2024 course has 120 videos that total 5 & 1/2 hours of content, Vs the old 2007 - 2 hour course.
Starting back in 2023 we have a new format for our online training content. One of the things I learned (after 42 years of producing dog train videos) is that rather than feature fully trained dogs demonstrating a new behavior, we now include a number of videos of new handlers working with untrained dogs. We have included comments that will help their training move forward quicker.
This course includes 63 instructional videos and 56 student videos. This makes this online course more like going to a seminar where the instructor explains the training steps and then students work with their own dogs.
One of the benefits of learning to use food rewards in your training is you will end up with a dog that loves to train, in fact, most will challenge you to take them out to train. This is very different from what I experienced back in the 1960s and 1970s.
Learning to train dogs with food is a journey. It's not the end of your training, it should be the beginning. You will use this information for the rest of your dog's life. In the end, it is going to make you a much better dog trainer. If you scroll to the bottom of this page you will see a detailed outline of the new material.

"The course was very comprehensive and I gained lots of practical information. I have taken lessons from a local balanced trainer who told me about your course and this was an excellent introduction to training and reinforces what she has taught my dog Ava and myself.
The individual trainers also helped me to understand the issues I've had and I'll refer to them in the future."

How long will this course take to complete?
You can work at your own pace. There is no time limit on the course. They say it takes 10,000 hours of practice, correctly, to master a skill.
Does this course expire?
You will have lifetime access to this course.
Can I get feedback in this course?
Yes, you can submit student videos in this course and get feedback from Ed and Cindy.
We are going to test turning this course into an interactive course for a limited period of time.
Our normal interactive courses cost several hundred dollars, simply because they are so time-consuming for the instructors to view student video uploads and answer course forums. If you want to take a short (under 3 Minutes) video of your training session and post it to the specific module that the training video applies to, we will watch the video and offer advice. The video will go into the STUDENT VIDEO Segment of the respective module and other students in the course will have an opportunity to learn from the video and our comments. Please read the rules before uploading your video.
Will this course be offered in a DVD or stream format?
This course is currently only available in an online course format. We are currently working on creating a streaming and DVD version of this course.
How much content is in this course?
There over 120 Videos totaling over 5 1/2 hours of content to watch.
There is also written content in every segment of the course. The written content would add up to a book of material. It's our feeling that everyone learns differently, some learn by watching videos, some like to read and watch videos.
This course includes 63 instructional videos and 54 student work videos.
