This should be a relatively easy exercise, so don't overthink it, and keep it simple.
Here are some of the key points:
Start by priming the dog. Do a few repetitions of the runaway recall without any leash pressure.
Adjust your leash length so that it is easy add pressure. If your dog is rather clingy and stays close to you, you will want to keep your leash a bit shorter.
Give a gentle tug on the leash as soon as you say "come" and run backwards at the same time.
Keep your sessions short and sweet. No more than five minutes at a time.
