Hi,

My name is Sheri. We actually have 3 dogs in my home right now.  The 1st is a Malinois named Lucy (3).  She is pretty well obedience trained but I have noticed over the last while that we never really followed through teaching her with distraction so I cannot control her when someone comes to the door etc. Further, she is fear aggressive, reacting on leash when approached and she has nipped a few people before we learned the proper way to introduce her to strangers.  She is also territorial around the house, running to the window to growl at passersby. I really think she does this mostly on cue from the other 2 dogs.

The 2nd dog we have is Titan(4). He is an oversized Aussie Shepherd and very sweet but I believe he is the most dominant of the 3. He is also quite territorial, however, he came to us after spending a year being trained by Canadian Canine to be a therapy dog (he failed the final test because the forklift in the store made him too uncomfortable). Other than being territorial, I rarely have any problems with him, but because he was already trained I do not believe we laid the proper groundwork for establishing ourselves as his pack leaders. He has growled at us when being physically forced to do anything (like being pulled away from the door or put on his bed)

Lastly, our daughter has a Boxer (1.5). I will admit we sometimes forget he is still a puppy as he is over 80 lbs.  He is also territorial, having learned it from the other 2.  All of his training was done by us and again, he was not trained with distratction and simply knows the basics.

All 3 dogs know come, sit stay (short duration), on your bed, shake paw, down, and a few other tricks in there but I really believe none of them are well enough trained in engagement so I'm hoping this course helps me get to where the dogs look to us for direction rather than us having to chase them down for corrections.
