Hi, welcome Jill. Please, do start with management. This always comes before obedience training, which doesn't mean that you shouldn't additionally include little obedience lessons.. Training the dog to learn the different house - and other rules will make life with him much easier. Ed Frawley in his free DVD and other DVDs explains and demonstrates this very clearly. I don't know your present course, but from the title I draw the conclusion, that this will also be covered.
Besides this, tan extremely important part in dog training is that everything is fun for the dog and for youself too. If you can build a strong bond with Delilah you will be very attractive for her. The better your relationship becomes the easier will be all the rest. LB offers for example also a course by Mark Keatiing "Relationship Games" as interactive course. Wonderful course, I took it three times with three different dogs. At the moment it's not running as interactive. But they offer it also as DVD. I§m writing just as a little input. But of course you'll first go through the course you've begun. I've heard of it from other students and it sounds very good.
Good luck and lots of fun!
