Hello everyone! My name is Dmitriy, but I go by "Post". I got that nickname when I was in the Navy, that's all I got to say about that haha. I am very excited to be taking this course and eventually putting my dog to the test. I have owned all kinds of animals in the past before and lived with multiple dogs on different occasions. However, I have never had a dog of my own, until 4 months ago. Currently I live with a 15 month old Siberian Husky name Champ. He is gorgeous and just a super cool dog. The breeder that I got Champ from let me hang out in the pen with him. He wanted absolutely nothing to do with me. He would not take food from me, would not come up and sniff me, would not let me pet him. I decided not to take him. I hung around for a little bit and talked with the breeder about getting his brother instead. That dog was actually into me, but the dog was already her dog. I've always been good with animals so I just sat back and watched those 2 dogs run around and play with each other. That is when I knew that there was a great dog inside of Champ. I went home and dog-proofed my house. The next day I brought Champ home. I knew I would not fail this dog. I started educating myself on dogs and fell in love with it. Everything because about dogs for me. I believe I found a new passion. I feel like I did a pretty good job with Champ for an amature dog owner. I am here to fine educate myself and fine-tune some of my skills. This will help me build a better relationship with my dog and as well as others.
