Hi,
I got into this through horse training. I was so good doing that I began learning about dogs and training my own. I was so successful ppl stopped in their cars asking if I was training dogs for the blind. I figured I'd make a go at it and make leerburg my main go to reference point as in jived with how I trained horses. Basically use as least amount of force nessasry but the most amount that is effective. Never presume the horse knows what u means either and train things in multiple places so it generalizes the behavior. Thats probably how as a dressage trainer the western crowd started coming to me as well as their horses began to win more. Plus coupled with my always wear a Helmut and never think a horse has to do what we ask as a 1200 pound animal became big hits.
Now i find myself here with dogs too. The only hurdle I have is getting ppl to accept the prong collar even with the reaserch. Not sure how to break that barrier so if anyone knows please give me ur secret.
Thanks for reading my rather long discussion!
