I just want to reiterate how important it is to take your dog out and train them in areas outside the ring; I did a lot of this with my dog while living in Boston when she was a puppy, and she passed her CGC test easily and went on to earn multiple titles in AKC obedience from there. I'm not here to boast about my dog's abilities, just to let people know that taking your dog out to socialize and train them in public places will do wonders not only in obedience, but also in creating a well-rounded dog.
