This workshop is a great primer on Decoy/Helper skills and functions as a great supplemental course to Michael's 2-Week Protection Classes, Part 1 and Part 2.
This workshop focuses on Michael introducing and practicing a wide variety of decoy skills using bite pillows, bite wedges, arm sleeves, leg sleeves, bite pants, and full bite suits. Michael also shows students some skills to practice without a dog present, and how to use a clatter stick as an auditory stimulator and as a source of external pressure.
This workshop does not focus on ins and outs of decoy/helper work in protection sports. If you are new to this kind of work, we highly recommend you start with the one of our Protection Classes first. This workshop is great for those who have already been introduced to decoy/helper work.
This course is not lecture-heavy like many of Michael's other courses. This course is primarily made up of clips of students learning and practicing the variety of skills Michael is teaching.
TARGET AUDIENCE
Handlers interested in protection sports, bite work, and decoy helper work.
