I think this class is a wonderful way to educate people about the journey rescue dogs make and how professional trainers could help the dogs adjust and develop the skills necessary to thrive in their new home.  Thank you for making this video sequence!

I love the Leerburg training system!  When I trained my first dog 45 years ago it was all with choke collar correction.  This treat reward training goes SO much faster and is so much more pleasant for ME too.

That being said, when we showed up at the animal shelter in Paris, TX they gave us no information on what we might experience with a rescue dog!  I had the "pie in the sky" idea that our new dog would immediately bond with us and be comfortable cause we loved him so much.  Um... nope.  He has separation anxiety and for the first few days I could NOT be out of his sight.  Today was the first time I could walk out of the room and he not "stand up in a separation anxiety panic".

I wish I had taken this course BEFORE we got Sonny!  I have been "behind the 8 ball" gathering the necessary supplies like a STURDY crate for him, an ExPen, etc.  He partially bent up the crate we use for Grace, but she was crate trained from a puppy and doesn't mess with her crate at all and goes into it on her own to relax and nap.

I can tell you that I will be promoting this course and making sure my local shelters know about this.  Do you have a flyer made that I can give to them?  Or one that they can include in the papers they give to a rescue family?
